Herbs for My Dog – Ginger
In the gold winter months I add some freshly grated ginger to my dog’s meal.
Ginger offers several health benefits for dogs when given in appropriate amounts. It has natural anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that can help reduce pain from arthritis and support overall immune function. It is also a cardiovascular tonic and promotes healthy circulation throughout the body.
Our dog loves the snow and could easily spend hours playing in piles of snow if we let him. Even though dogs have a higher body temperature than we do as the normal body temperature range for a dog is typically 101.0°F to 102.5°F (38.3°C to 39.2°C).
Ginger is part of our Cold Weather Protection for Leo. Ginger, along with his dog coat, and limited outdoor time in very cold temperatures, keeps him safe and active all winter long.
