Herbs for My Dog – Milk Thistle
My dog and I both use milk thistle for liver support. He gets 1 capsule of powdered milk thistle seed (_____mg ) twice a week for 3 weeks after receiving vaccinations. I open the capsule and sprinkle it on his food. Then I switch to one capsule weekly for maintenance.
I keep him on a maintenance dose of milk thistle because dogs are exposed to a variety of environmental toxins every day. If not adequately broken down and expelled, these toxins can build up over time and may have harmful effects. So far, he has tolerated the milk thistle very well.
